On September 19, Nicolas Deschamps, founder and chairman of the French Union of Producers, visited our university. Party Secretary Liao Xiangzhong hosted the delegation, during which both sides held discussions on topics including French-Chinese youth talent exchange in film and television, and empowering audiovisual creation through AIGC technology.

Liao Xiangzhong presented our university's strategic blueprint and development vision in the AI era. He emphasized that as key hubs for talent cultivation and innovative research, universities must stay at the forefront of technological advancement while fully understanding the dual nature of opportunities and challenges brought by technological transformation to higher education and artistic creation. Guided by core values, institutions should strengthen social responsibility and maintain human-centered principles while embracing technological progress. China and France share profound cultural ties in film and television, and we look forward to deepening collaboration through audiovisual cooperation. By leveraging our respective resource strengths, we aim to explore AIGC applications, jointly cultivate creative talents, and facilitate youth exchange programs, collectively driving industry innovation and cultural exchange.
Mr.Deschamps highly praised the achievements of China Media University in film and television art education, creative research, and international exchanges. He stated that collaborating with a university like China Media University, which possesses forward-looking vision and resource integration capabilities, will inject strong momentum into advancing French-Chinese film and television cooperation to a new stage. He particularly mentioned that the advanced teaching facilities and platforms, the strong academic atmosphere, as well as the professional competence and vibrant energy demonstrated by the faculty and students left a deep impression on him, and he is confident about jointly creating youth film and television creation projects in the future.

Cao Yuguang, Director of the International Organization Division at the International Liaison Department of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, accompanied the delegation. The meeting was attended by Zheng Yue, Dean of the School of Drama and Film; Vice Dean Sun Bin; Zhao Hui, Director of the Basic Department; and Han Ying, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, along with other department heads. Mr.Deschamps and his delegation also toured the university's library, concert hall, Media Museum, 4K broadcasting studio, and the School of Animation and Digital Arts, gaining deeper insights into the institution's infrastructure development and educational programs.
On September 20, Sun Bin, Vice Dean of the School of Drama and Film, and Zhao Hui, Director of the Basic Department, accompaniedMr.Deschamps on a visit to the school. They held detailed discussions on the "Changjiang Affection, Green Journey" French-Chinese University Student Short Video and Drama Creation Workshop, refining implementation plans, personnel selection, and scheduling. The meeting clarified key milestones and established collaborative procedures for the project's advancement.
The visit of Mr.Deschamps and his delegation has injected new momentum into our university's efforts to expand channels of French-Chinese film and television cooperation and deepen professional interaction in the audiovisual field between the two countries, and to jointly explore broader cooperation space in the fields of talent training, technology co-creation and cultural exchanges.
