Plot Summary: In 1919, with the end of World War I, war-torn Europe had not yet recovered its strength. The Paris Peace Conference, aimed at resolving war遗留 issues and laying the foundation for peace, was preparing to convene. As one of the victorious powers, China sent a delegation of five members, including the then Chinese envoy to the United States and plenipotentiary Gu Weijun (played by Chen Daoming). However, amid the backdrop of European and American powers and Japan's ambitions to redivide spheres of influence, the number of Chinese delegates was reduced, and Germany's interests in Shandong were on the verge of falling into Japanese hands. Gu Weijun delivered a passionate speech at the conference, refuting Japan's unreasonable demands, yet how fragile justice appeared in the face of interests. Mei (Xu Qing), wife of Gu Weijun's close friend Xiao Kejian (He Zhengjun), made a special trip to Paris to find her husband, who had joined the patriotic workers' movement. Kejian's activities in France and the growing public outcry at home made Gu Weijun and others in the League of Nations feel a profound sense of responsibility.
